CAFÉ HEY – Monster’s Ball Show
Café Hey holds 2nd Year Anniversary Art Show- Monster’s Ball
On Saturday, October 17, Café Hey will host an art show featuring the works of local artists in addition to live musical and visual performances to celebrate its 2nd anniversary.
Artists showing are Anthony Zollo (recently honored with Best in Printmaking by Creative Loafing), Elizabeth Kozlowski (Galleries Manager at Florida Craftsmen Gallery), Josh Pearson (Dirty but Sophisticated, Sensory Overload), Justin Nelson (Transitions Gallery), the Blue Lucy partnership (Chad Mize and Phillip Clark), SquidDust (Jacksonville, FL), Danial Ryan, Theresa Crout, Armando Barr and Sadia Marshall.
Live music will be provided by Tampa’s own Super Secret Best Friends, Florida Night Heat, SOG and DJ’s SowsDef and Pocket Chomper. In addition, live body plastering on-site and fire spinning will thrill those who attend.
Café Hey is committed to the showcasing of local talent in addition to serving carefully prepared coffee drinks and a café-style menu. Recently honored with the distinction of “Best Coffeeshop to Eat At” by Creative Loafing, it focuses on sustainable eating in its from-scratch pastries, soups and salads.
Frequent art shows are an important component of its free entertainment roster. This art show, however, holds special meaning for the cozy space on N. Franklin Street. Said Anne Vela, co-owner of Café Hey, “There are many reasons to celebrate- we’ve got two years on us, and we’re going strong. But the best part of having this space is making it available to the community for art, for music and for discussion. ”
The show runs at 8pm until 12 pm. Admission is free. A limited amount of food and beverage will be served free, and a limited portion of the menu will be available for purchase.
