Bluelucy! I’m Home!
CL favorites and sometime fixture of St. Petersburg creative scene Bluelucy (made up of artists-partners Phillip Clark and Chad Mize) have reached the next milestone in their creative careers: an artspace dedicated solely to their own vibrant brand of colorful pop art and quirky-fun illustrations. In the front is a gallery that features a wide selection of their works; in the back, the pair runs their offices and art studio. Bluelucy presents their new gallery to the public at a launch party this Saturday night. Make sure to drop in, offer your congrats, and check out what the artists have been up to over the past several months. Bluelucy Gallery Opening, Sat., Feb. 6, 6-10 p.m., Bluelucy, 653 Central Ave., downtown St. Petersburg, bluelucy.net. –Leilani Polk

Here is a new piece by Chad Mize that was commissioned by his friend Max and his cousins for their cousin’s 40th Birthday. A new tradition set for the family … Whenever a cousin turns 40, he gets his own painting.
